Marvel Riders

Chapter 790: The Minion Army’s Moves Ultron, remotely controlling this raiding force, also realized that the royal palace was extremely difficult to destroy. He therefore ordered the robot army to simply surround the palace and cease their attritional attacks. Ultron decided to personally head to the royal palace... Ultron’s robotic army and human minions launched a fierce, all-out assault on Wakanda. The main assault force on Wakanda City consisted primarily of the robot army, while the smaller satellite towns surrounding Wakanda were attacked by Ultron’s human minions as the main combat force, though some of Ultron’s robots provided support. After terrorist organizations like Boko Haram were subdued and incorporated by Ultron, their strength was actually further enhanced. Ultron used his own technology to help these human minions upgrade and modify their weapons. Originally, these terrorist groups possessed only light infantry weapons such as rocket launchers and AK-47 rifles, supplemented at most by a few pickup trucks. Now, following Ultron’s integration, the capabilities of these human mercenary forces have been greatly enhanced. They are now equipped with numerous upgraded armored vehicles, missiles, and even some energy weapons designed for human use. Now, this 100,000-strong reorganized army of Ultron’s minions can be described as incredibly powerful. Eighty thousand robotic troops are concentrated on attacking Wakanda City, while another twenty thousand robotic troops, along with the 100,000 human mercenary forces, are attacking the remaining regions of Wakanda. Ultron had already decided in advance that the human minions could plunder wealth at will in the occupied zones. All gold, silver, gems, antiques, and art treasures seized during the assault on Wakanda would belong to the human minions. However, strategic assets such as mineral resources and factories would belong to Ultron. This caused the human mercenaries’ fighting spirit to soar. If the spoils of war were their own, why wouldn’t they fight to the death? Moreover, Wakanda was an extremely wealthy nation, so the wealth to be plundered there was bound to be staggering. Ultron’s army of 80,000 robots launched an assault on Wakanda City. Another 20,000 robots, along with 100,000 Human Servant Army troops, were tasked with carrying out a brutal and bloody conquest of Wakanda’s satellite towns and surrounding regions. Zuru, the former leader of Boko Haram, was subdued by Ultron and entrusted with a crucial role, becoming the commander-in-chief of the human mercenary army. Zuru personally led a massive force to attack the areas surrounding Wakanda. Coordinated by Ultron’s robotic army, Zuru’s forces launched fierce assaults. The 100,000-strong human mercenary army was highly motivated; composed largely of terrorists and outlaws, they were not only easily incited but also extremely fanatical. Moreover, Wakanda’s immense wealth fueled an astonishing desire for battle among these mercenaries. After Ultron’s forces launched fierce strikes against military targets in the satellite towns, the mercenary army—combining mechanized units and infantry—moved into these areas to conduct mop-up operations. Although the primary objective of these mercenaries, according to the battle plan, was to capture these satellite towns and other areas, driven by greed, they soon began looting Wakandan civilians in droves. The mercenary forces went door to door, entering villas and apartment buildings in residential areas. Once inside, they looted indiscriminately; any civilian who resisted was met with a bloody massacre. The sounds of gunfire and agonized screams echoed from residences throughout the area. The mercenary forces carried out brutal massacres and plundering against the civilians. But resistance soon followed. Although Wakanda had long enjoyed peace, a martial spirit still prevailed, and many civilians had received military training. The remaining members of the Wakandan military and reserve forces quickly rallied armed civilians to mount a resistance. The human mercenary army led by Zulu swiftly captured dozens of small towns in Wakanda. But what followed was fierce resistance. In a town called Bait, though smaller than the city of Wakanda with its population of 1. 5 million, it still had nearly 100,000 residents. Zulu personally led 50,000 troops to attack it, while the remaining 50,000 were divided into multiple groups to capture other smaller towns. The soldiers under Zulu’s command were highly motivated; previously, under the cover of Ultron’s robotic army, they had successfully captured a large number of towns and plundered countless riches. Looking at the town of Bait, Zulu’s aides and staff officers all looked on with envy: “If we take Bait, just think of all the riches we’ll get...” Zulu let out a sinister laugh: “Hmph, Wakanda is truly rolling in wealth. Just by capturing those small towns, we’ve amassed more riches than we could ever hope to acquire in several lifetimes. Very well, let’s take this town of Baiter and see just how much wealth we can get our hands on. I reckon it’ll be a hell of a lot. Haha!” Zulu and the high-ranking officers of the human mercenary forces were overjoyed. They had initially been somewhat apprehensive about attacking Wakanda, but Ultron had ultimately forced them to commit through a combination of threats and inducements. However, once the war began, with Ultron’s army of robots providing cover, these human mercenaries advanced smoothly, and along the way, they acquired staggering wealth. It wasn’t just Zulu; the leaders of the other co-opted human factions also held Ultron in even greater esteem. Ultron had initially forced their submission through military threats, but now it was clear that aligning with him and serving as this artificial intelligence’s underlings was a life of luxury and privilege. “Vanguard, prepare to launch an assault on the town of Baiter,” Zulu ordered over the military radio. A 1,500-strong vanguard, backed by 300 modified light armored vehicles—including 80 tanks—rolled into the town. The elite vanguard entered the town of Beilte fully armed; many of the town’s residents had already been evacuated. Seeing no resistance upon their entry, the vanguard began breaking into villas and private homes, looting property house by house. These vanguard troops looted large quantities of gold, gems, and other valuables. The residents of Wakanda had a custom of decorating their jewelry and homes with gold and precious stones. This provided Ultron’s human minions with frequent spoils. After confirming that the outskirts of the town posed no threat, the vanguard pushed further in. Inside the town of Baylet, a large group of Wakandan soldiers and militiamen were taking up arms in villas and buildings, waiting for the invaders to enter their ambush zone. As the 1,500-strong vanguard entered the ambush zone, the waiting Wakandans aimed rocket launchers at the minions’ tanks and armored vehicles. Light and heavy machine guns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles were trained on the minions’ infantry. “Whoosh! Rat-a-tat-tat! Boom! Instantly, the sounds of missiles launching, gunfire, and explosions filled the air. Missiles, rockets, grenades, and a storm of bullets rained down on the mercenary forces. One by one, tanks and armored vehicles were struck by missiles and rockets, exploding with thunderous roars and turning into burning fireballs. The Vassal Army soldiers screamed and cried out in terror, hastily grabbing their weapons to return fire fiercely. But they were already completely on the defensive, and soon the entire vanguard of the Vassal Army was wiped out.
