Chapter 430: The Great Battle Iron Man Stark flew toward this last Silverwing fighter. The Silverwing fighter relentlessly attacked Iron Man with its plasma machine gun, firing bursts of plasma that whizzed past him. Many of them struck Iron Man’s RK-10 armor, but the armor’s powerful defenses successfully withstood the damage. Iron Man aimed the pulse cannons on both hands at the Silverwing’s wings. With two loud, energy-shaking booms, Two high-powered pulse cannon rounds were fired at both wings of the Silverwing fighter. "Boom! With two massive explosions, a large hole was blown in each of the Silverwing fighter’s bat-wing-like wings. The Silverwing fighter’s fuselage was constructed using cutting-edge technology from Pioneer Tech. Yet even its wings could not withstand the full power of Iron Man’s pulse cannons. As the last Silverwing fighter plummeted to the ground in a cloud of thick smoke, Stark had completely annihilated the entire squadron. After taking out the fighters, Thor said to Iron Man, “Well, that was faster than I expected.” Stark replied, “Those things sure go through ammo. But they weren’t too hard to handle.” Thor smiled. “Well, looks like we’ve got plenty more to deal with later.” At the same time, Thor pointed down at the London cityscape below. The two had already flown into the London city center, near the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, with the winding River Thames stretching out below. Along both banks of the Thames, streaks of exhaust fumes shot into the sky. These were Pioneer Tech anti-aircraft missiles. The Pioneer Tech defense forces deployed throughout London had already spotted Thor and Iron Man approaching. After their Silverwing fighter jets were shot down, they began attacking the two with ground-based anti-aircraft missile launchers. One after another, Pioneer Tech’s advanced anti-aircraft missiles were fired at the two. Stark began to quip, “Looks like they’re not exactly thrilled to see us. We need to give them a taste of our power now, or these guys will get too big for their britches. Hmm, how should we take them down? Those fighter jets earlier were just a warm-up; now the real battle begins. Alright, let’s have some serious fun.” Thor didn’t say much either; he simply stated, “I’m heading down first,” and swiftly descended with Mjolnir, landing on the banks of the River Thames. "Crack!" The moment he touched down, Thor slammed Mjolnir into the ground with all his might. The strike instantly filled the surrounding area with lightning, instantly destroying three nearby automated anti-aircraft missile launchers and killing more than a dozen Pioneer Technology infantrymen. Thor regained his footing and began engaging the Vanguard Tech troops on the ground. Iron Man, Tony Stark, continued to leverage his expertise in air superiority. “JARVIS, calculate the number of enemy anti-aircraft platforms along both banks of the River Thames,” Stark commanded from within his armor. “Certainly, sir,” JARVIS replied. Simultaneously, JARVIS activated the RK-10’s advanced scanning and computational systems to analyze the targets along both banks of the River Thames. In the visor of his helmet, various statistical figures eventually appeared before Stark’s eyes. “Sir, there are approximately two hundred state-of-the-art anti-aircraft weapon systems along both banks of the River Thames. These include anti-aircraft missiles, energy-based anti-aircraft cannons, and other weapons,” Jarvis’s electronic voice reported after completing the analysis. “Two hundred? That’s quite a number,” Stark remarked, slightly surprised. He hadn’t expected to find so many cutting-edge anti-aircraft weapons along the banks of the River Thames. “Alright, JARVIS. Lock onto twenty of them first, then launch the ground-attack bombs,” Stark ordered. Immediately, two ground-attack bomb launchers extended from either side of the RK-10’s waist. Each launcher held ten bombs. The suit’s targeting system locked onto twenty ground-based anti-aircraft weapons. With these ground-based anti-aircraft weapons locked on, the two bomb launchers on the suit’s waist fired twenty ground-attack bombs in rapid succession. Since these ground targets were stationary, the ground-attack bombs achieved nearly 100% effectiveness. The twenty ground-attack bombs struck the twenty anti-aircraft weapon platforms along the banks of the River Thames, and the twenty explosions shook the heavens. Accompanied by twenty violent explosions along the banks of the River Thames, the twenty anti-aircraft weapon platforms were destroyed. These platforms were reduced to twenty piles of burning scrap metal. “Sir, all twenty targets confirmed destroyed,” Jarvis’s electronic voice reported from within the Iron Man suit. Looking at the three Silverwing fighters, Stark issued an order to JARVIS: “JARVIS, recalibrate targets.” On the screen inside his helmet, two of the remaining three aircraft were locked onto. “Sir, we cannot launch a saturation attack with the remaining missiles,” JARVIS reported. Stark furrowed his brow slightly. The standard combat procedure for the AO-5 missiles he had designed was to have two missiles lock onto a single aerial target. With four missiles remaining in the two shoulder launchers, the most efficient way to eliminate the enemy was to have two missiles target a single aircraft. “Alright, take out two of them. I’ll handle the last one myself,” Stark said after a moment’s thought, issuing his command. The remaining four missiles then split into two pairs and flew toward the two Silverwing fighters. “Boom! Accompanied by several explosions, the two Silverwing fighters were shot down. With only one Silverwing fighter remaining, it suddenly fired four air-to-air missiles in rapid succession. Four advanced air-to-air missiles hurtled toward Iron Man. “Release chaff,” Stark ordered JARVIS decisively. The armor plates in the torso and leg sections of the Mark 10 suit sprang open, launching dozens of new-model chaff canisters. These decoys formed a tight protective shield around the area near Iron Man. While the air-to-air missiles fired by the Silverwing could be described as further-refined versions of Pioneer Technology’s designs, the chaff deployed by the RK-10 was a new type recently developed by Stark, with jamming capabilities far superior to those of standard chaff. The four air-to-air missiles exploded one after another alongside the decoys, completely disintegrating into a pile of debris and flames. Iron Man then flew toward the last Silverwing fighter.
