The Life of a Necromancer as a Swashbuckler

Chapter 44: Yan Miaomiao

When Nameless leaped out, he found that the three people reacted in three different ways. Diao Dehuai turned ashen-faced at the sight of Nameless, for he knew just how formidable Nameless was and feared he might unleash his fury. The fiery-red girl, upon seeing Nameless emerge, flushed with anger—if it hadn’t been for this man’s meddling earlier that morning, she wouldn’t have ended up in this predicament. What did he think he was doing, showing up now? As for the transvestite, her reaction upon seeing Nameless was particularly peculiar. Her eyes fixed on him with a dazed, dreamlike gaze, as if she’d spotted a rare treasure. She immediately became fascinated and cooed, “Oh my, what a stunner! You must have been sent here just for me, my dear. Come here—this lady will certainly pamper you well.” As she spoke, she swayed her body coyly toward Nameless. Nameless knew that her sly behavior stemmed from a guilty conscience. Glancing at the “Fiery Red” girl on the ground—who had already collapsed in a heap, looking truly pitiful—he looked up at the trans woman’s reaction and felt a wave of nausea wash over him. He almost threw up again; it was too repulsive for Nameless to bear. Nameless dared not look at the wanton woman; with no other choice, he had to shift his gaze back to the “Fire Red” girl. When she saw him looking at her, she glared at him in anger, but it was to no avail—Nameless would rather die than look at the person across from him. “Damn transvestite, put your clothes back on. I’m embarrassed for you,” Nameless said to the wanton woman while keeping his eyes on the fiery-red girl. “Oh, you’re getting shy, aren’t you? How cute. I’ll definitely take good care of you, young lady. And if you like, I can even give you that little girl too!” The transvestite, having noticed Nameless’s reaction, pointed at the Fire-Red Girl on the ground and, swaying her hips, uttered even more obscene remarks. Hearing the wanton woman speak like that, Nameless felt even more sick to his stomach. He thought to himself, How can anyone be so shameless? If this keeps up, I’ll be defeated before the battle even begins. The most urgent task right now isn’t defeating the enemy, but rescuing the fiery-red girl and making a run for it. If I stay here any longer, it won’t just be a matter of losing my virtue. Standing nearby, Diao Dehuai witnessed the scene but feared that Nameless might be feigning weakness—after all, in his eyes, Nameless possessed extraordinary martial arts skills. He hurriedly warned the wanton woman, “Senior, this man is extremely formidable. Just this morning, he defeated Yan Miaomiao with a single move—he’s incredibly powerful.” So the fiery-haired girl’s name was Yan Miaomiao—and she truly lived up to her name, with a temper as fierce as fire, Nameless thought to himself. “Get lost!” The wayward woman seemed to have lost her head over him and couldn’t stand Diao Dehuai’s warning. “If I hear your awful voice ruining the mood between the three of us one more time, I’ll kill you right now!” she said viciously. “What ‘atmosphere between the three of us’?” Nameless couldn’t help but grumble inwardly upon hearing this. He’d have been more than happy to spend a little more time with Yan Miaomiao, but the mere sight of the person across from him completely sapped his fighting spirit. Nameless knew full well that he needed to find a way to escape quickly. His right hand secretly clenched the Mingyu Pellet. He took one last look at Yan Miaomiao, steadied his nerves, and—taking Yan Miaomiao by surprise—suddenly kissed her on the lips before turning and rushing straight toward Diao Dehuai. Seeing Nameless suddenly charge at him, Diao Dehuai was so startled that he hurriedly backed away. The trans woman standing nearby reacted quickly as well—but instead of coming to Diao Dehuai’s aid, she lewdly lunged straight at Nameless. Nameless seemed to have been prepared for this; he feinted a turn, opened his right hand, and sent two Mingyu pellets hurtling directly toward the lewd woman. Startled, the woman quickly dodged out of the way. The two Mingyu pellets collided mid-air with a loud bang, causing the underground chamber to shake violently as smoke billowed out. Nameless didn’t even bother to see if the Mingyu pellets had hit their mark. After throwing them, he turned and scooped up Yan Miaomiao from the ground, pushing the Nine Heavens Mystic Separation Technique to its absolute limit as he took off running. It was as if he were escaping the jaws of a tiger—he sprinted frantically toward the exit, hurling two more Mingyu pellets over his shoulder as he ran. After running a distance, Nameless and Yan Miaomiao finally reached the entrance of the cellar. Nameless tossed Yan Miaomiao out, then leaped up after her, landing back in the courtyard. The moment his feet touched the ground, he pulled out two more Mingyu Bombs for the third time and, without even looking, hurled them into the cellar. The crackling sounds shattered the stillness of the night. The entire sequence was executed in one fluid motion; in the blink of an eye, he had used up six Bright Jade Bombs. Only after finishing his barrage of attacks did Nameless slump down onto the ground in exhaustion, remaining there for a long while. This had been the most perilous encounter he’d faced so far; the threat posed by his opponent seemed even greater than the shock he’d experienced at the hands of the Poison Sovereign. He truly believed that if he’d been captured, the consequences would have been unimaginable. After resting for a while and seeing that there was no movement in the cellar, Nameless slowly stood up to look for Yan Miaomiao. Yan Miaomiao, who had been thrown to the ground by Nameless, was still aching all over. However, after such a long time, her body had finally recovered a little. Seeing Nameless approaching, she raised her palm and slapped him across the face. Although she didn’t put any extra force into it, the blow still stung Wuming, and his face immediately turned red. Nameless was taken aback. He was about to ask why, but saw that Yan Miaomiao was so angry her nose seemed to be wrinkling. She snapped at him, “Why did you kiss me?” Hearing her question, Nameless’s anger instantly deflated. It was true that he’d kissed her out of the blue—it was his fault—so he couldn’t bring himself to stay angry. He had no choice but to tell the truth: “Miss, I’m sorry. I really had no choice. That opponent was too terrifying. If I hadn’t kissed you, I wouldn’t have had the courage to face her.” In Nameless’s eyes, Yan Miaomiao and that wanton woman were like two polar opposites. Yan Miaomiao had provided him with the mental encouragement he needed to avoid collapsing on the spot. Thankfully, that kiss had given him the courage to launch a series of attacks; otherwise, he might have surrendered immediately. Seeing the sincerity in Nameless’s eyes, and considering his earlier performance, Yan Miaomiao concluded he was telling the truth. After witnessing the loose woman’s true face, she’d felt a wave of unease; now, Nameless seemed much more pleasant to look at. Although Nameless’s complexion was now fair and delicate, there was still a fundamental difference between him and that loose woman. The two rested for a while, neither daring to go down to the cellar to check. After waiting for a long time with no one emerging, they assumed that whoever was inside couldn’t have survived, and only then did they finally breathe a sigh of relief. Just as they exhaled in relief, they heard what sounded like a noise coming from the cellar entrance. They hurriedly looked toward it and saw a cloud of thick smoke billowing out. Within the smoke, a human figure seemed to be visible; the figure flickered in the air for a moment before landing on the ground. As the thick smoke gradually cleared, the figure turned out to be the wanton woman, clutching Diao Dehuai in her hand. She was still completely naked, and apart from a wound on her hand, she appeared to be unscathed. Diao Dehuai, however, was torn to shreds,a bloody, mangled mess—he had been blown to pieces. The wanton woman had actually used Diao Dehuai as a human shield, forcing him to take the brunt of the Mingyu Dan’s explosion so she could escape unharmed. The wanton woman who had leaped out spotted Nameless immediately and became excited all over again. With a drooling grin, she said, “My lord has been waiting here for me,” and as she spoke, she swayed her body as she closed in on Nameless. Nameless was completely terrified. This demon was actually unharmed. As if struck by a heavy blow, he instantly lost the ability to react, staring blankly as the demoness gradually drew nearer.
