The Creation of the Heavens and All Realms

Chapter 21: The Great Way of the Laws

Qianjun Stone is extremely rare; not even a single Small Thousand-World Realm is guaranteed to produce a single piece. Even if it does form, there’s no telling in which remote corner it might appear. Who would have thought that this ordinary Lei Family Village would actually possess one? “Among the Three Thousand Laws of the Tian Dao, the Law of Force is an exceptionally unique one. Even in the Primordial World, cultivators of the Law of Force are extremely rare—let alone a rare treasure imbued with this very law?” Zhou Tianci could hardly believe his incredible luck at having stumbled upon the Thousand-Jun Stone in Lei Family Village. The term “rare treasure of the laws” is a general term for treasures that contain the power of the laws. Such treasures are actually not uncommon; the most ordinary example is the Five Elements Spirit Stone, which contains traces of the Five Elements laws. However, certain special rare treasures of the laws are extremely rare, such as those containing the Law of Time, or this very rare treasure before him, which contains the Law of Force. Law Treasures are classified by grade based on the amount of Law they contain. The most common ones, such as the Five Elements Spirit Stones, can be found everywhere in a Small Thousand World. The highest-grade Law Treasures, however, can almost be called the embodiment of the Law itself; refining such a treasure would allow one to instantly step onto the Path of the Law and attain the rank of Da Luo Golden Immortal. Such treasures are extremely rare even in the Primordial World and could never possibly be born in a Small Thousand World. Cultivators can easily distinguish Law Treasures like the Five Elements Spirit Stones, as they are only imbued with traces of the Laws and primarily consist of concentrated spiritual energy. All cultivators can sense spiritual energy. However, even ordinary Immortal Path experts are unable to identify special Law Treasures such as the Thousand Jun Stone. Outwardly, the Thousand-Jun Stone is indistinguishable from an ordinary rock. It possesses neither a powerful aura nor any stored spiritual energy; aside from being incredibly heavy, it exhibits not a single distinctive trait. The reason Zhou Tianci was able to keenly detect the Thousand-Jun Stone was entirely due to the Tree of Indestructible Creation. This sapling had fused with the Chaos Indestructible Spiritual Light and embodied the Three Thousand Laws itself; any Law-infused treasure that came near it would resonate with it. “I was just worrying about how to nourish the Tree of Eternal Creation, but who would have thought such a tremendous stroke of luck would fall into my lap?” ” Zhou Tianci gazed at the ethereal image of the Thousand-Jun Stone beneath the sapling of the Tree of Eternal Creation, feeling both astonished and delighted. “The Tree of Eternal Creation is, in itself, the Three Thousand Laws, but these laws are locked within the tree and cannot manifest. This is also because my Primordial Spirit is not powerful enough. If my Primordial Spirit reached the level of immortality, I could directly refine the Tree of Eternal Creation and attain Tian Dao.” Zhou Tianci gave a wry smile; this opportunity was so immense that it hardly seemed like a blessing. The Tree of Eternal Creation was truly magnificent—if he could fathom its secrets, Zhou Tianci would soon be able to cultivate all Three Thousand Laws simultaneously. Once he had mastered this cultivation, with a single thought, he could shatter countless worlds; in the blink of an eye, he could forge a world of Tian Dao and recreate the Primordial Chaos—what immense power that would be! However, Zhou Tianci’s heart was filled with helplessness. The Tree of Eternal Creation had fused with his Primordial Spirit; logically, the two should be one and the same. Yet, Zhou Tianci’s Primordial Spirit was far too weak to perceive the Three Thousand Laws within the Tree of Eternal Creation—a truly awkward predicament. Zhou Tianci had two solutions to this problem. The first was to nurture the Tree of Eternal Creation’s growth, allowing it to mature from a sapling into a mighty tree. In this way, the Three Thousand Laws would gradually radiate outward, eventually coalescing into the Fruits of the Laws. The second solution was to continuously strengthen his Primordial Spirit; once it became powerful enough, he would naturally be able to comprehend the laws. “For the Tree of Eternal Creation to grow, it must devour the power of the laws. And as the Tree of Eternal Creation grows, it will also condense the power of creation to nourish my Primordial Spirit.” Zhou Tianci had been racking his brain, wondering where exactly to find the power of the Laws for the Tree of Eternal Creation to consume. Devouring ferocious beasts, as he had done before, was certainly not an option. When Zhou Tianci devoured ferocious beasts, he was, in fact, devouring the Laws; the spiritual energy within their bodies was a manifestation of certain Laws, and their life force was also a manifestation of the Laws. It wasn’t just ferocious beasts; every living being bore traces of the Laws. Even the heavens and earth themselves were woven and shaped by the interplay of these Laws. However, the power of the laws contained within sentient beings is far too meager. According to the information within the Tree of Eternal Creation, even if Zhou Tianci were to devour every living being in the entire world, he would still be unable to provide the Tree of Eternal Creation with much power of the laws. Unless Zhou Tianci devoured the entire world! “Devouring the entire world is certainly beyond my capabilities right now, but devouring rare treasures of the Laws is a very good approach.” Zhou Tianci sensed the Law of Force emanating from the Thousand-Jun Stone. It was no exaggeration to say that the power of the Laws contained within this tiny stone was equivalent to that of hundreds of millions of ferocious beasts! “After devouring these Laws of Force, the Tree of Eternal Creation should grow considerably, and I’ll be able to perceive the Laws of Force as well… The Laws of Force—the most powerful offensive law among the Three Thousand Laws under the Tian Dao. Legend has it that Pangu attained enlightenment by cultivating the Laws of Force, thereby creating the heavens and the earth!” As Zhou Tianci pondered this, he moved his Primordial Spirit. A wisp of chaotic energy descended from the sapling of the Tree of Eternal Creation, landing directly upon the phantom of the Thousand-Jun Stone and merging with the Law of Force swirling around it. Soon, the Force Law began to fade; in less than half an hour, it had completely vanished, and the phantom of the Thousand-Jun Stone also dissipated from Zhou Tianci’s Spiritual Platform Realm. After the Tree of Eternal Creation had devoured all of the Thousand-Jun Stone’s laws of force, the stone beneath Zhou Tianci’s feet turned into ordinary rock. “What a powerful ability to devour!” Zhou Tianci couldn’t help but marvel. He turned his attention back to the sapling of the Tree of Eternal Creation. Having devoured the laws of force from the Thousand-Jun Stone, the sapling had grown considerably, increasing from one inch to two inches in length. A faint, barely visible twig had appeared on the upper half of the sapling, while a nearly imperceptible root had dangled from the lower half. “Every time the Tree of Eternal Creation manifests a law, it grows a branch and a root. Now that it has gained both a branch and a root, it means the Law of Force has manifested—and I can finally begin to comprehend the laws of Tian Dao!” Zhou Tianci was overcome with excitement. Comprehending the Laws was a capability reserved for Da Luo Golden Immortals—and yet now, he, a mere Post-Heaven cultivator, was able to come into contact with them. What a tremendous stroke of good fortune! After calming his mind, Zhou Tianci’s spiritual essence slowly drew near the Tree of Eternal Creation. When his spiritual essence and the tree became one, the slender branches and roots on the sapling seemed to come to life all at once, and the Law of Force began to manifest within Zhou Tianci’s spiritual essence. Early the next morning, Lei Dong arrived at the ancestral hall with the prepared food. Having killed hundreds of ferocious beasts the previous day, Lei Bao had specially selected a three-eyed bear to roast and asked Lei Dong to deliver it to Zhou Tianci. “Is that you? I believe your name is Lei Dong, right?” Zhou Tianci, having just awakened from his cultivation, spoke gently upon seeing Lei Dong. “Yes, Sir!” Lei Dong was somewhat excited; the image of Zhou Tianci wielding his halberd to slay the ferocious beasts last night was etched in his mind, filling him with boundless admiration. “My uncle asked me to bring you breakfast, Sir.” Zhou Tianci donned his battle armor. “What kind of beast is this?” Lei Dong hurriedly replied, “It’s from a three-eyed bear.” “A three-eyed bear?” “Yes. The Three-Eyed Bear is an extremely rare beast—there are only three or four of them in all of Yutou Mountain. Its meat is even more delicious than that of the Seven-Colored Hazel Grouse. In the City of Tears and Blood, a single Three-Eyed Bear can fetch 1,000 gold coins!” Lei Dong explained, adding at the end, “My uncle prepared this roasted meat especially for you, Sir.” “Then I must try some,” Zhou Tianci said with a smile. He had never heard of a three-eyed bear before, but considering that a short-tailed hyena cost only one gold coin in the City of Tears and Blood, while a three-eyed bear was worth 1,000 times that amount, there must be a special reason for the price difference. “Here, have some too.” Zhou Tianci used his sword to split the roast meat into two portions, giving one-third to Lei Dong and keeping two-thirds for himself. “Thank you, sir!” Lei Dong dug in without hesitation. “Lei Dong, it seems you’re quite familiar with this place?” Zhou Tianci said. Lei Dong wiped his mouth and said with a touch of pride, “To be honest, Your Excellency, I’m the youngest hunter in the history of Lei Family Village. I’ve been hunting on Yutou Mountain since I was thirteen. I’m very familiar with the terrain of Yutou Mountain and all the wild beasts that live there.” Zhou Tianci chuckled. “It seems you’re quite a prodigy. I’ve heard that to become a hunter, one must reach the ‘Post-Heaven’ realm.” Lei Dong’s face flushed red as he scratched his head and said, “Sir, I haven’t reached the ‘Post-Heaven’ level yet. My uncle and the others agreed to let me join the hunting party because I was born with more strength than others.” Zhou Tianci’s interest was piqued. “Natural superhuman strength? Come on, let me see just how strong you are.” With that, Zhou Tianci grabbed Lei Dong’s hands. He pressed down, letting Lei Dong push upward with all his might. Lei Dong gritted his teeth and strained, veins bulging on his forehead, yet he couldn’t budge Zhou Tianci’s right hand even an inch. “All right.” Zhou Tianci gently released his grip, and Lei Dong let out a deep sigh of relief. Zhou Tianci chuckled, “I’ve already tested you. You do indeed possess innate superhuman strength. Even before breaking through to the Acquired Realm, your arms already possess the strength of ten thousand jin. In terms of raw strength alone, you’re stronger than a martial artist at the mid-stage of the Acquired Realm!” Lei Dong grinned. “However, I’m not sure if this is a blessing or a curse for you…” Zhou Tianci sighed softly. “I can sense that your divine strength still has room to grow. In another year or two, your strength could even rival that of a peak Post-Heaven martial artist. But having too much strength isn’t necessarily a good thing. To enter the Post-Heaven realm, you must unify all the energy in your body into a single force. With your strength being so immense, it’s already difficult to gain complete control over it—let alone unify your energy.” The smile vanished from Lei Dong’s face; Lei Bao had told him the same thing. “All right, young man, as the saying goes, ‘When the cart reaches the foot of the mountain, a path will appear.’ There’s no need to worry too much about certain things—a solution will always present itself.” Zhou Tianci patted Lei Dong on the shoulder; he had a very favorable impression of him. Lei Dong quickly shook off his discouragement and regained his composure: “Sir, are you heading to Yutou Mountain today?” “That’s right. With the beast tide underway, we must go and rescue the people.” “Then let’s set out right away. I suggest we head to Wangjia Village first…” “Are you coming with us?” Lei Dong replied, “I’m your guide, Sir, so naturally I’ll be accompanying you.” “Haha, all right. Since you’re willing, then come with us.” Zhou Tianci picked up his long halberd, slung his long sword over his back, and led Lei Dong out.
