By a stroke of chance, he came into possession of the Seven Kills Sutra. This sutra is notoriously bloodthirsty; several of its previous inheritors, unable to master the sutra’s innate nature of slaughter, ultimately met their end at their own hands. Qin Yu is a man of justice and chivalry. After obtaining the Seven Kills Sutra, although he intended to right the injustices of the world, he realized that to increase his strength, he would have to rely on killing. It was at this point that the Fire Scorpion Gang came into Qin Yu’s sights. These ruthless thugs, who committed every conceivable evil and killed without batting an eye, became the starting point for Qin Yu’s cultivation of the Seven Kill Sutra. Afterward, he nearly lost his way several times and was nearly consumed by the sutra’s backlash, but Qin Yu persevered through it all. Finally, he fully mastered the Seven Kill Sutra—only to realize that the secrets surrounding it had seemingly only just begun to unfold... ....
Chapter 15: A Little Bonus
How could an ordinary private residence have bodyguards? And how could they have trained a woman like this? So, did Lin Xiaorui really join the Fire Scorpion Gang to seek revenge? Who exactly is her older sister? And why did her older sister join the Fire Scorpion Gang? A series of questions flooded Qin Yu’s mind, spurring his desire to get to the bottom of things. With these thoughts in mind, Qin Yu found a courtyard wall concealed by trees, leaped over it, and climbed inside. He rolled over and hid behind some bushes in the courtyard, but this only made Qin Yong’s suspicions grow. The courtyard was completely empty, and the lighting was unusually dim. He had expected to see many bodyguards once he entered, but now this deserted courtyard actually made him feel a sense of oppression. After observing for a long time, Qin Yu cautiously made his way to the side of the house. It was a three-story villa, with a balcony on each floor. Except for a single lit window on the third floor, all the other rooms were pitch black—which made perfect sense; after all, who would leave the lights on all night while sleeping? But the more he saw this, the more uneasy Qin Yu felt. He nimbly scaled the wall onto the second-floor balcony. The curtains were drawn over the window, and Qin Yong crept cautiously up to the windowsill. Leaning in to listen, the sounds coming from inside made Qin Yong’s blood boil. After all, he was a young man in the prime of his youth—how could he possibly handle such a scene? Lin Xiaorui’s familiar voice drifted out, laced with soft, seductive moans. “No, no, mmh...” “I’ll do whatever the hell I want. Don’t tell me not to have my way with you. What good are you anyway? I can see you’re not only worse at your job than your sister—you’re worse in bed, too.” “But...” After a series of rustling sounds, the man let out a muffled groan. “No ‘buts.’ Let me get my fill first, then we’ll talk.” Immediately afterward, the sounds of their lovemaking grew louder and louder, carrying all the way downstairs. Just how fierce must a couple be to make such a racket? Listening to the sounds, Qin Yu felt a stir within himself. He let out a long sigh and couldn’t help but think, “It’d be a real shame to miss a live show like this.” With that thought, Lin Yu extended a finger and tentatively tapped the window—it wasn’t locked. “What a stroke of luck,” Qin Yu thought to himself. He slid the window open gently, without making a sound, feeling a secret thrill. Not only did the sounds from inside not stop, but as he pushed the window open further, they seemed to grow even more intense. The window was open just a finger’s width. Qin Yu didn’t push it any further; he smiled softly. As he listened to the sounds from inside, Lin Xiaorui’s graceful figure flashed through his mind, and he reached out again with a single finger to gently part the curtain. The moment the window opened a crack, the sounds from inside came to an abrupt halt. “Trouble!” A warning flashed through his mind. Lin Yong instinctively pulled back, ready to run, but it was too late. Just as his hand retreated, the curtains inside were yanked open violently, revealing several dark gun barrels pointing through the glass at Qin Yong’s head. At that very moment, all the lights in the entire villa suddenly came on, bathing the place in bright light. “I really have no tears left to cry,” Qin Yu muttered under his breath, cursing under his breath. He had no doubt that even if he were as fast as lightning, at such close range and with so many gun barrels trained on him, he would still be doomed. He’d only just obtained the Seven Kills Sutra; he was supposed to punish evil and uphold justice, to be a champion of righteousness—was this really where he was going to meet his end today? Feeling incredibly anxious, Qin Yu decided to take a bold look into the room—and the moment he did, everything became clear. It seemed this trap had truly been tailor-made for him. This wasn’t a bedroom, but a large living room. In the very center stood a leather sofa set, and seated on the central sofa was a middle-aged man in a Tang-style suit. He held a cigar between his fingers, his legs crossed, his head resting against the back of the sofa as if nothing out of the ordinary were happening. Lin Xiaorui stood nearby, cautiously glancing over at the scene out of the corner of her eye. “Women really are a source of trouble,” Qin Yu shook his head. The man inside had already rushed out, and several bodyguards in black suits were pointing their guns at Qin Yong: “Hurry up and go inside.” Shrugging, Qin Yu obediently walked into the room and was led to stand in front of the man. Only then did he notice that the man was leaning back on the sofa, his eyes closed, one hand resting on his knee and tapping it lightly—looking utterly at ease. Seeing this, Qin Yu was secretly startled. Since this was a trap set specifically for him, Lin Xiaorui must have told the man everything about his situation. Yet this man had acted completely unconcerned from start to finish—wasn’t he afraid that Qin Yu might kill him in a desperate act of mutual destruction? Just as Qin Yu was thinking this, the man opened his eyes. Without looking at Qin Yu, he twirled the cigar in his hand. “A distinguished guest has arrived? Please, have a seat.” Hearing this, Lin Xiaorui swayed her hips as she walked over to Qin Yong’s side, pointing to a nearby sofa and gesturing for him to sit. Qin Yu narrowed his eyes at Lin Xiaorui. Instead of sitting down, he asked, “What’s this all about?” Lin Xiaorui glanced at the man—a flicker of unease passing through her eyes—then turned to Lin Yong with a hint of resignation and said slowly, “I’m truly sorry, but my master would like to invite you to be his guest.” “Oh? Is this how you treat guests?” Qin Yu stared at Lin Xiaorui, then looked at the man, and finally scanned the several people in the room holding guns. Showing not a hint of fear, he said coldly, “Since you say I’m a guest, does that mean I can come and go as I please? I’m done being your guest—I’m afraid I won’t be staying.” With that, Qin Yu turned to leave. “Hey, young man, please wait a moment.” The middle-aged man gave an apologetic smile and stood up. “You’re a young man with real guts. Please, have a seat.” With a broad smile on his face, the middle-aged man waved his hand, and the others lowered their guns. He added, “Please forgive us. Please, have a seat.” After asking Qin Yong to sit down once more, he finally snorted coldly, leaned back on the sofa, and crossed his legs. “Go ahead. You’ve gone to all this trouble, so there must be a reason.” Qin Yu’s tone was full of impatience, yet he spoke with genuine sincerity. “Oh?” Hearing that tone, the middle-aged man didn’t get angry; instead, he laughed. “Xiaorui certainly didn’t misjudge you. You’re not only exceptionally bold, young man, but also very smart. You’re truly a force to be reckoned with. So, I won’t beat around the bush.” Who the hell’s beating around the bush with you? You’ve really lost your mind. Qin Yu muttered to himself as he shifted his posture, adopting a haughty demeanor. Since this big shot had gone to such great lengths to “invite” him in, it clearly meant he held considerable value. Qin Yu resolved to play the part of the honored guest to the fullest. Seeing that Qin Yu’s face practically screamed “I’m asking for a beating,” the middle-aged man didn’t get angry at all; on the contrary, his smile grew even brighter. “Allow me to introduce myself. I am Lin Hao.” Lin Hao. Qin Yu searched his memory but found that, within his limited knowledge of the underworld, no gang leader seemed to go by that name. Either he knew too little, or the faction Lin Hao belonged to was simply too mysterious.
