Preface Legend has it that more than a thousand years ago, the Asian continent was ruled by demons, and humans and other races lived under the tyranny of demons. Their lives were constantly endangered and unbearable, and the war between humans and demons never stopped. In 29 BC, the human hero Rodlan was born. In the first five years of the mainland calendar, hero Rodlan saved the life of the legendary elf clan leader by chance. The elf clan, in order to repay their kindness, imparted spells (i. e. magic) that control the five elements of nature to the hero Rodlan. From then on, humans learned and were able to use magic. In the era of the mainland, with the help of the elf clan, the hero Rodlan, together with the dwarves and orcs, finally defeated the demons and liberated the Asian continent after 5 years of arduous battles. Humans, along with the Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and other ethnic groups on the continent, collectively became the masters of the Asian continent. This famous war is known as the Liberation War by later generations. In commemoration of this battle, the Asian continent used calendars to calculate time for the first time, and the year in which the demons were defeated was the Continental Calendar Year. In the mainland calendar year, the Kingdom of Rodlan was established, and the hero Rodlan naturally became King Rodlan I. In the year 588 of the continental calendar, King Robert of the Kingdom of Rodlan died unexpectedly and was succeeded to the throne by his 8-year-old son Roland. Due to the young age of the king, he was assisted by Prime Minister Hughes in handling government affairs. Resulting in the decline of the royal power within the Rodlan Kingdom, the rise of various local powers, and the arbitrary occupation of land and expansion of power by those in power. Even Prime Minister Hughes had ulterior motives, leading to repeated rebellions and continuous wars throughout the kingdom, marking the beginning of the Warring States period on the mainland. In the year 595 of the continental calendar, the Rodlan Kingdom eventually split and was located in the remote northeast. The loyal Rodlan Kingdom and the Hughes Empire, which was split by the Prime Minister Hughes in the southwest, became the two major powers on the Asian continent at that time. The two major powers and the other ten weak small countries constantly launched wars to unify the continent, and the situation fell into a state of chaos during the Warring States period. The wars on the Asian continent continued for hundreds of years, and after unification and division, a series of integration and division, by the year 889 of the continental calendar, in addition to the two strong Asian countries of the Rodlan Kingdom and the Hughes Empire, there were only three remote small countries left: the Principality of Granty, the Nerchinsk League, and the Kingdom of Wendol.
