The Most Powerful Young Master of the Northern Song Dynasty

Chapter 16: The Vibrator

Taking a deep breath, Bai Yutang wasn’t the type to take a loss lying down. He didn’t go after that damn brat, but he let his anger simmer as he walked into Lanruo Temple with a cold expression, intending to take it out on someone else. Yes, this time she hadn’t just captured Wang Bang—she’d also brought in others she deemed in need of discipline. Right now, that guy lay gagged and bound beneath the temple’s offering table. But before Bai Yutang could go inside, Wang Bang—who had earlier shown remarkable skill at escaping—came running back to Lanruo Temple, screaming. He cried and begged for mercy, looking just like a stray dog. Still, Bai Yutang had to admit that the kid could run like the devil; in terms of sheer running speed alone, this little rascal had surpassed the limits of his own physical capabilities. “What are you back here for, you little rascal!” Bai Yutang eyed him with a mischievous glint. But Bai Yutang immediately grew tense. Not only had Wang Bang run inside, but he’d dashed behind Bai Yutang as if he’d seen a ghost, clinging to Bai Yutang’s thick thigh and peering out through the gap between his legs. “Do you think I wanted to come back? There seems to be something out there even more unreasonable than you,” Wang Bang said nervously. Looking out, he saw three pairs of bright green eyes gleaming menacingly in the darkness surrounding Lanruo Temple. They must have been three wild wolves, but this time they didn’t howl. After reaching a certain distance from the perimeter of Lanruo Temple, they simply stopped in their tracks. The Lanruo Temple truly lived up to its reputation. Wang Bang had previously feared being mauled to death by wild wolves, but now he saw that the wolves dared not enter. This phenomenon revealed the truth: within Lanruo Temple, there must be something even more terrifying than wild wolves. Howl! Suddenly, the wolves howled. After the three of them raised their heads and let out a long howl in the moonlight, they retreated one after another, eventually vanishing into the darkness and leaving the grounds of Lanruo Temple. As a result, Wang Bang—still under the influence of this child’s body—began trembling all over once more. Being held by a “man” around her legs had already made Sister Jin Mao feel uncomfortable, and now, discovering that the young man was vibrating at a high frequency like a vibrator, she couldn’t help but feel a tingling sensation. Actually, the sensation wasn’t half bad, but Bai Yutang, being too proud for that, simply jerked his leg and flung Wang Bang away. The little brat somersaulted twice before landing on the ground. Bai Yutang said, “Are you trying to get yourself killed? Coming back for a second showdown?” “Jin Mao, you’ve got it all wrong. I like to know when to stop—I won’t challenge you to a duel again. I’m just a kid, and it’s nighttime out here in the middle of nowhere. I’m scared, and I had nowhere else to go, so I came back,” Wang Bang said. Bai Yutang’s expression softened slightly; he actually found his reasoning quite sound. Still, he couldn’t help but say with a touch of haughty pride, “So, you ran back here to beg me to protect you?” “I’m not here to beg you. We Wang family members may have nothing, but we have our pride,” Wang Bang said with righteous conviction. Bai Yutang looked up at the night sky with a sigh of resignation and said indifferently, “Well then, explain this: if you’re not begging me, why did you come running over to cling to my leg?” “I’m not here to be a leg ornament—I’m here to demand you take responsibility,” Wang Bang said. Bai Yutang snapped angrily, “What have I ever done to you that I need to take responsibility for?” “You tied up a defenseless child and dragged me out to this dangerous, desolate wilderness on a pitch-black, stormy night. As they say, you should see things through to the end—since you brought me out here, shouldn’t you take me back?” Wang Bang said. Bai Yutang paused, taken aback. Wang Bang continued, “Everyone is raised by their parents. It’s fine if you want to take revenge on the officials for what Lao Bao and the others did to you. But I’m just a child. You snatched a child away from his parents and dumped him in the middle of nowhere, where he’s surrounded by giant spiders, scorpions, pythons, and wild dogs…” “All right, all right, just shut up for now!” Bai Yutang said, looking thoroughly exasperated. “I’ve really fallen into your trap this time. I acted on impulse and did something completely pointless—I’ll take responsibility for that. Just stay put by my side, and I’ll send you back tomorrow after sunrise. In the meantime, try not to get beaten up by me.” However, this was Lanruo Temple, and the mere mention of that name still had a profound effect on Wang Bang—especially given that even the wild wolf, known for its “relentless persistence,” dared not set foot inside. Wang Bang couldn’t say for certain whether there were ghosts here, but he was certain that something far more vicious was lurking within. With that in mind, Wang Bang said with tears welling up in his eyes, “Jin Mao. Parents who’ve lost their children are frantic with worry, and children who miss home will cry. Let’s not wait until tomorrow—let’s leave right now. Please take me home.” For a split second, Bai Yutang nearly let himself be moved by this kid’s “cute” demeanor. But then he recalled all his past antics and the endless nonsense he’d spouted. So Bai Yutang shook his head resolutely and said, “If it’s tomorrow morning, then it’s tomorrow morning. I, Bai Yutang, stick to my word. Right now, I have other business to attend to.” Wang Bang asked curiously, “What are you going to do? If you’re going to take a bath, I can stand guard for you, but I still don’t recommend bathing out in the wild on a pitch-black, windy night.” “Bath my ass! Get lost—I’m going in to chop someone up!” Bai Yutang, completely out of patience, slapped him on the back of the head, sending Little Old Wang reeling, then strode purposefully inside. Wang Bang, clutching the back of his head, followed her a few steps, feeling frustrated but deeply curious. But when Bai Yutang finally entered that dark, crumbling temple—after all, a gentleman doesn’t stand beneath a building made of substandard materials—Wang Bang decided not to go in. It was pitch black inside, and there was a risk of running into Grandma. Thinking of the old woman, Wang Bang grew very worried. He glanced furtively from side to side, crouching in a horse stance like Yan Chixia. With his left hand clenched into a fist and his thumb raised, and his right hand cupped, bent, and gripping his thumb before turning it over, the pose resembled the Confucian “clasped fists” gesture, but in reality, the hand position formed the Daoist “Taiji Diagram” gesture. He muttered under his breath, “Heaven and Earth are boundless; the secrets of the universe are revealed. We of the Old Wang family are protected by the Heavenly Gangs; no evil can touch us. Don’t come after me—go after that skilled and daring Bai Yutang instead.” Swish, swish Then there was a commotion. It sounded like the wind rustling through the grass, or as if something were moving through the wild grass nearby. Before Wang Bang could even scream, Bai Yutang emerged from the dilapidated temple, dragging an old man who was bound as tightly as a rice dumpling, his mouth stuffed shut. “Old… Old Chen! What are you doing here?” Wang Bang was stunned at the sight. This guy was Old Chen from the Egg Gang—she had no idea what had happened to him, or how he’d ended up being captured by Bai Yutang and brought here. Old Chen couldn’t speak, but he looked at Wang Bang with a mix of terror and pleading, making “mmm-mmm-mmm” sounds through his nose. Wang Bang turned to Bai Yutang, just as he was about to speak, but before he could get a word out, Bai Yutang slapped him on the back of the head with a “smack.” Wang Bang clasped his hand to the back of his head and fell silent, shrugging at Old Chen to indicate he’d tried his best. Immediately afterward, Bai Yutang pressed the tip of his sword against Old Chen’s throat and said coldly, “I want to hear you scream, but I don’t want to hear you speak. Because someone’s already pissed me off with their mouth today—got it? Once I take the gag out of your mouth, you’re not allowed to speak—you’re only allowed to scream.” Old Chen nodded in terror, thinking this female bandit’s demands were simply outrageous. Bai Yutang then removed Old Chen’s gag. “Aaah!” Lao Chen’s piercing scream echoed through the night. Then an ear flew through the air, and at the same moment, Old Chen’s blood splattered across Wang Bang’s face. Wang Bang was too shocked to react—he never imagined Bai Yutang would be so ruthless as to actually cut off Old Chen’s ear! After quickly wiping the blood from his face, Wang Bang shouted, “Are you out of your mind? Why did you cut off Old Chen’s ear?” Bai Yutang, his face expressionless, slowly wiped the blood from his sword onto Old Chen’s body. As he sheathed his sword, he said coldly, “This man is untrustworthy; he has broken his word and betrayed his principles.”
